Who We Are

Western Releasing is an independent film studio that produces original films and series, supports filmmakers with tailored distribution services, and forges relationships in and around the industry.

Driven by core values of Curiosity, Community, Transparency, and Sustainability, we work to elevate Colorado and the Mountain West on the global stage and to empower diverse filmmakers (especially women, BIPOC, and/or LGBTQIA+ creators) to tell their own stories on their own terms.

Lee Dylan Blake

FOUNDER & FILMMAKER

Lee Dylan Blake is a filmmaker and creative strategist based in Denver. Enamored by Colorado’s rugged, creative spirit, she founded Western Releasing in 2025 to bring local stories to life.

She began her career by supporting documentary films such as Netflix’s The Social Dilemma (2020), PBS POV’s Chasing Time (2025), HBO Max’s The Dark Wizard (2026), and the Charlotte Black Film Festival’s Garden Ministry (2023), as well as numerous other independent productions.

Currently, she produces and hosts the YIMBY Denver Podcast and is launching several new projects under Western Releasing.

She holds an MBA from the University of Colorado Boulder and a B.A. in Politics from New York University (NYU).
